In Step 1 of this course, your goal was to get a web host and register a domain name for your e-resume portfolio site. Congratulations! Now you’re ready to install WordPress.
If you’ve never used WordPress before, then this is step is going to be a game-changer for you. You will be amazed at all of the web publishing power that WordPress puts into your hands.
In this step, I will show you a super easy way to install WordPress. All you have to do is use an auto-installer. Fantasico and Softaculous are auto installers that you can find in the Control Panel (aka CPanel) of some web hosts.
The next three videos will walk you through the process of setting up WordPress on you e-resume portfolio site.
First, a bit about WordPress
Two ways to install WordPress
Manually: To install WordPress manually, go to http://wordpress.org/download/ and download the latest version of WordPress. Then follow the instructions here to manually install WordPress.
Automatically: If you want a faster, easier way to install WordPress, use an Auto-installer like Fantasico or Softaculous. If you signed up with a web host that gives you a CPanel, then Fantastico or Softlaculous may be available in the Software/Services section of your CPanel.
The Softaculous auto installer program is available in the Software Services section of the x10hosting.com CPanel
