New Website Design for Stafflink Solutions IT Staffing Agency
It’s Fall. Time to go back to school (hooray!). Time for a new web site (bigger hooray!). Time to move our blog from Blogger to WordPress (humungous hooray!!). After a year of building test sites to play with different designs and platforms, I kind of feel like I just graduated.
The more things change, the more they stay the same
Stafflink has the same owners and the same awesome team of IT recruiters. Joanne still manages our payroll. Our head office is still at 20 Bay Street, Toronto. But our staff is growing. And our websites just took a giant leap forward to the WordPress platform.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of WordPress
I’m not alone. WordPress is by far the top CMS (content management system) on the web today. Actually, the most popular blog I’ve ever written was called “10 Reasons I Jumped on the WordPress Bandwagon“.
I created our main website – www.stafflink.ca – with an awesome WordPress framework from iThemes.com called Builder. I love the Builder framework because it enables you to literally drag and drop the pieces of your site into place without having to mess with the code. Plus Builder makes it very easy to add widgets to your site.
I created this blog with a premium WordPress Theme from 8Bit called the Standard Theme. It’s beautiful right out of the box and easy to set up.
After a huge amount of trial and error including many false starts (see WordPress Theme Smackdown), it feels great to have our new website and blog up and running.
Positive changes at Stafflink
Please let me know if you have trouble finding stuff or if you have some tips for how I could improve our sites.
Nice blog big guns. I love me a good network dawg.
Thanks! I really like your website design too
I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
Thanks for your comment! I will defininely keep your suggestions in mind to try and improve our site.
Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic nevertheless I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My blog covers a lot of the same subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Superb blog by the way!
I might be interested in exchanging guest posts if we’re writing about similar topics. What’s the link to your blog?
Should your current website deliver some sort of full RSS feed?
Yes. We have an RSS feed for the blog posts at http://blog.stafflink.ca/feed and the job posts at http://www.stafflink.ca/jobs/feed-rss/. Thanks to your tip, I just added an RSS feed button to our blog. I just moved our blog from Blogger to WordPress and I’m still trying to figure out the best layout. Thanks so much for pointing this out!
Nice blog post. digged
Thanks Janine!
Admiring the hard work you put into your website and detailed information you present. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
Thanks Emery! I really appreciate your feedback on the site.
Wanted to drop a remark and let you know your Rss feed isnt working today. I tried including it to my Yahoo reader account but got nothing.
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll try to fix it!
I just want to thank you again for taking the time to tell me about the broken feed! I just updated the link. It should be working now.
