As a recruiter, you’re competing for the hottest job candidates so you want to have access the most information possible. Which means searching the web using a variety of search engines. Not just Google.
The problem is that you’re extremely busy and you don’t always have the time to go to 5 or 6 different search engines and try out various Boolean search strings.
Metasearch engines to the rescue!
A metasearch engine is an online search tool that scans multiple search engines at the same time. Then it takes all the search results from those different sources and puts them them into one handy list.
This is makes you more successful.
Most recruiters are only searching Google and Linkedin. But with a metasearch engine you’re going to see candidates that they can’t find.
Metasearch engines to take for a test drive:
Polymeta: Scans various search engines including Google, Yahoo and Bing. It also allows you to focus your search to the Web, News, Images, Twitter, Video or Blogs.

Infospace: Searches Google and Yahoo
