Last night, a group of us from Stafflink braved the stormy weather to head over to the Steamwhistle Brewery to attend “Sip and Savour Ontario” in support of Houselink. As I mentioned in last week’s post, Houselink is a cause that we’ve been involved with here at Stafflink since 2003, so when we found out about “sip and Savour Ontario,” we couldn’t wait to come out and support this great cause – and ‘sip and savour’ we did!

Stafflink at Sip & Savour Ontario in Support of HouselinkWe sipped…
Some great Ontario wines including selections from Wayne Gretzky Estate Winery, Chateau des Charmes, Le Clos Jordanne, and Tawse Winery just to name a few. My personal favourite was the Fielding Estate Winery. We also took a moment to sip on some Steamwhistle Brew, (Hey, when in Rome…) where the bartender was kind enough to take a group photo of us.

We met…
Some of the most talented chefs in Ontario including Chef Anne Yarymowich of the Frank Restaurant at the AGO, Chef Anthony Rose of the Drake Hotel, and Chef Tim Dunnill of the Old Mill Inn & Spa. We got to watch Chef Adam Hynam-Smith from the El Gastronomo Vagabundo prepare a lovely tuna dish paired with a great, unreleased Reisling that should be on the LCBO shelves next month. I think Ryan was most excited to meet Mike Bullard who was enjoying the event as well.

Yummy cupcakes from the Cupcake DinerWe savoured…
Some wonderful foods from restaurants all over Toronto. Our favourites included The Boiler House, The Old Mill Inn & Spa, The Drake Hotel, and Frank Restaurant from the AGO. There was also a gorgeous selection of cupcakes from the Cupcake Diner that were the perfect way to finish off a wine tour of Ontario, if you ask me. It was a wonderful night. Thank you to everyone that attended and all who made this event for Houselink possible. Hope to see you at the next event!
